About This Project

Mina del Eden by El Zacatecano

Mina del Eden is a Mezcal produced by the Mexican company “El Zacatecano” available in three flavours: Blanco, Reposado and Añejo.

El Zacatecano was founded in 1910 as the first destillery in the state of Zacatecas. Starting as a small family business, it has now developed into a traditional producer of high-quality mezcal looking back at more than a hundred years of experience.

El Zacatecano has made a commitment to continued quality improvement through innovation and consistency, growing the best agave plant in the region and constantly investing in agriculture development and research.

The blue agave used as the main ingredient of this mezcal matures over seven years before harvested and only the best plants get selected for production. Once the agave is selected and the pineapples are ready, they are taken from the field to the factory. Subsequently, the pineapples are cut into pieces and cooked for eight hours.

Syrup gets extracted from the agave which is then subject to a 72-hour fermentation process.

“Mina del Eden” undergoes a double distillation process in accordance with the Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM). Afterwards, it is stored in white oak barrels, giving the mezcal its distinct smell and taste and allowing it to rest before the final bottling process.
